There once was a boy at Bogstrand who was threshing in the barn when a girl came in. The boy had never seen a so beautiful girl before. He fell in love and they married. Once he was going to accompany her to her former homestead. It was in Trollhølåsen south of Bogstrand. The home was adorned with much gold and silver. He later tried to find the place, but never found it.
Later one time, the wife got angry at the man and came into the smithy where he worked. There, she took a horseshoe, straightened it and twisted it into a ring.
This is the ring that is on the door in Rollag church today.
