The farm Alfstad in Rollag has a loft (storehouse) from 1193.
The loft is different from other lofts from the same period in that it is built with internal galleries in caged construction. The log construction is findalslaft and is made so that it is wider at the top.
This is a technique that is otherwise used for more expensive houses, such as the villa on Kravik in Nore. Inside the loft there is a runic inscription which translates to "Geirmund made me."
